Fifty pounds uniform series Bank of New Zealand Trading bank note to which the first series of notes were modelled. The bank of New Zealand is a private bank that was allowed to issue notes until 1933 when the reserve bank became the sole issuer of banknotes. |

The pound notes were by far the largest issue The prefixes were: A,1A, 2A,3A,4A,5A,6A,7A, 8A,9A B,1B,2B,3B,4B,5B,6B,7B,8B,9B,10B,11B,12B Since they made an error with the B series by using a double digit number they skipped C,1C,2C 3C,4C,5C,6C,7C,8C,9C D,1D Since 1D was the last of the series it they didn't issue print a full set of serial numbers. The 1D issue as a result is scarcer than the rest. Due to the error the 10B,11B and 12B are also much sought after. Single letter prefixes are also scarcer than number letter combinations |

The 10 Shillings issue was the second largest issue of this series. Prefixes are: Z,1Z,2Z,3Z,4Z,5Z,6Z,7Z,8Z,9Z Y,1Y Since 1Y was the last of the series it they didn't issue print a full set of serial numbers. The 1Y issue as a result is scarcer than the rest. |
